BOB GRUEN

New Yorker Bob Gruen has been taking pictures of music people since the 1970’s. He’s had the Nikon FE out through most of the big earth tremours in music and probably best known for his work documenting The Clash tearing up the USA in the early 1980’s. He grew up in New York and was in the right place at the right time to grab Joey Ramone, Deborah Harry and New York Dolls in their real pomp. He produced classic work for the NME and Rolling Stone through the 1970’s and the exhibition at The Huntingdon Gallery in Rivington Street, put together by Stride, ex-guitarist of the Lurkers, is a big and broad splash of Gruen’s brilliant black and white prints.
We bought a great Ramones contact sheet print from 1976 signed by Bob.
